www.DigitalSales.ie was launched in April 2018 – and thus, as of August 2019, the site is 18 months old.  Just like established digital marketing agencies such as Wolfgang Digital or ebow, sector keywords are not within their primary domain name.  So, ranking for keywords is an awful lot more difficult.

The aforementioned brands have been in existence for some time, so they have longevity credibility, yes, search engines will factor almost everything, even when your domain name was registered and how long your website has been live!

But to rank a new brand website like Digital Sales, for a mature keyword search such as: ‘Digital Marketing Agency Dublin’, will be very tough.  Some may consider pointless to try and even attempt to rank for.  You have seasoned competitors with countless backlinks and who are most likely employing best practice SEO.  FYI: We are currently on page 8 on Google.ie, with 852 pages trying to rank for this keyword.

However, you can choose your battles.  And we decided to focus on SEO, as we reckon at Digital Sales, if a prospect has bad SEO results, their website probably has serious UX, technical and SEO issues.

So, if you are a start up company, with a new website, choose your battles.  However, invest is a poor, cheap bog-standard template website, then forget about trying to rank for keywords.

Not bad for a website only 18 months old?  What’s extra special about these results is that we don’t have any keywords in our domain, www.DigitalSales.ie – look at the websites outranking Digital Sales; DublinSEOExpert.com, SEOExpertIreland.com and DublinSEOCompany.com – so, it’s easier to rank fast if you have the keywords in your domain name, but will you stay there??

We believe we will can grab position one or two for the search string above, and the primary reason is the ‘competition’, what they are doing wrong, or not doing.

It must be remembered these sites should have higher traffic figures, which is a high-ranking factor, so, it won’t be instant and don’t forget about the websites behind Digital Sales, yes, the websites in position 4, 5, 6…

In essence, here is why I believe we will eventually outrank the above-listed websites:

• One of the websites does not have an SSL Certificate and one has not redirected, Http to https – very poor
• One of the websites has audio autoplay (and every time the user goes back to the homepage) which will drive up bounce rate, a Brandwatch survey found that 74 percent of respondents had a negative view of autoplay– the audio also makes some extraordinary claims regarding SEO results and future performance!!
• These websites are awful, from website design and UX perspective
• These websites are not regularly updated – you must keep adding content – one site only has 14 pages, 29 pages, and 43 pages – Digital Sales has over 250 pages.
